"Goose" Tatum was the wildest Harlem Globetrotter of them all.
He set the tone for the comedic behavior that would become synonymous
with the Globetrotters. Quick, comical, and a talented player,
Goose's arms were so long that they reached his knees. He was
a star baseball player for the Birmingham Black Barons before
being signed to a basketball contract with the Globetrotters.
Goose was drafted during World War II, but returned to the team
when his tour of duty was complete.
