Goose Tatum

Harlem Globetrotter Online

Famed Reese "Goose" Tatum was the wildest Harlem Globetrotter of them all. He set the tone for the comedic behavior that would become synonymous with the Globetrotters. Quick, comical, and a talented player, Goose's arms were so long that they reached his knees. He was a star baseball player for the Birmingham Black Barons before being signed to a basketball contract with the Globetrotters. Goose was drafted during World War II, but returned to the team when his tour of duty was complete.
