| One of
the great industrialists of the century, Scottish born Andrew
Carnegie's name remains recognizable throughout the world today,
nearly 80 years after his death. Carnegie Hall, Carnegie Mellon
University, and Andrew Carnegie Library at North Carolina's
Livingstone College are only a few of the organizations that
bear the name of the great businessman, magnate, and philanthropist.
At one time the richest man in the world, he lived by the adage
"The man who dies rich, dies disgraced." Incredibly generous,
and a true believer in helping the less fortunate, he gave away
several hundred million dollars to help establish institutions
all over the planet. |
